Batman: Arkham City 2: 10 Reasons It Will Be Better Than The Prequel

5. Gotham Will Burn

Batman: Arkham City rooftop With the prequel dealing with how Batman first met the Joker, it is unlikely that the game will take place in Arkham Asylum again, as the Joker wouldn€™t have been there yet, and it obviously won€™t be in Arkham City, because that place wouldn€™t exist yet. So the prequel is, yes, likely to be set in Gotham. But what type of Gotham? A Gotham that has yet to encounter the Joker, of course. A Gotham that has yet to be terrorised by the kind of crazy super-villain that the Joker is. It will be a criminalised Gotham, the kind we all know and love, but it will be a city that hasn€™t experienced a certain kind of evil just yet. The Arkham City sequel will also likely take place in Gotham, but it will be a completely different type of city. Firstly, this Gotham will know all about the Joker, Two-Face, Riddler and all the other super-villains that have previously terrorised them throughout the years. And if the residents of Arkham City break out and villains such as Ivy and Scarecrow keep to their word, Gotham City will be under siege like never before. It will be over-run with criminals running riot and destroying everything they see. The Gotham City of the prequel will be a great gameplay experience, but the Gotham City of the sequel will be even greater, as it will be a city of the brink of destruction.
