Batman: Arkham Insurgency - 10 Things It Must Learn From Knight
7. Get As Far Away From 'Gun-Toting Batman' As Possible
The current incarnation that's doing the rounds on the big screen is quite fundamentally not Batman - mainly down to how incredibly callous he's become in both handling firearms and indulging in total destruction at all times.
You could see a bit of Zack Snyder's 'vision' infect the Arkham series too, as in Arkham Knight, suddenly Batman was levelling street-level thugs with waves of missiles, or was able to plough straight through groups of them - the play-off being "Well, the Batmobile electrocuted them out of the way first"...
Come on. It's clearly an in-game bending of the rules to get more in-line with this:
We all know there's no real place for a gun-loving Bat, unless it's part of some "He's lost his way" story, which wasn't earned or really the case in Arkham Knight. If Insurgency's rumours are true it'll be a prequel, thereby restoring Batman to more of a martial arts-focused fighter with less tech, but it's integral that the games don't follow the completely broken incarnation from the DCEU.
