Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Huge Problems Nobody Wants To Admit

1. The PC Release Was Disastrous

Controversy? Warner Bros? PC? How preposterous! On top of a woeful PC launch of Mortal Kombat X, Arkham Knight has also been significantly marred by poor PC performance, and the reasons behind them are even worse. Users utilising both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards have been experiencing a plethora of issues since day one of Knight's release, and Warner even limited the game to 30FPS for the PC Market before it had released in a poor attempt at damage control. This means that in its current build, Arkham Knight on consoles is actually outperforming the PC version when it comes to graphics - something unheard of in modern day gaming. Even more unsettling is the fact that it appears as though development of the PC version was outsourced to a relatively unknown studio called Iron Galaxy, a company of only 12 employees. Even more alarming is the fact that reports suggest they only received a build of the game 8 weeks prior to Knight's release, leaving them with very little time to bring a high quality release to PC users everywhere. At the current time of writing Warner Bros. have also pulled Knight from Steam and have asked multiple retailers to stop selling the PC version of the game wherever possible. This isn't surprising though, as Knight's Steam page is currently enjoying over 1800 negative reviews, each urging players to stay away from it if possible. It's easy to see why, as now PC users have to avoid spoilers for a painful amount of time. Were you left disappointed by the finale to the Arkham Trilogy? Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
