Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Key Steps To Guarantee It's 2014 Game Of The Year

3. Responsive Batmobile Controls

The idea of incorporating the Batmobile as a gameplay mechanic is certainly something to gush over, but if done wrong, can turn out to be a nightmare. Driving controls aren't exactly the easiest thing to implement in a way that can please everyone - and those that don't agree with that statement should look no further than Rockstar and the mixed reactions their Grand Theft Auto games usually receive. Once again, the map in Arkham Knight is being touted as 5 times the size of Arkham City, which means that a large portion of navigation could be spent in the Batmobile. And if the iconic method of transportation is an unresponsive mess that has players crashing into walls or sliding around the street as if the Batmobile is on ice, it will be a severe game breaking issue. Rocksteady are also implementing in boost mechanics along with a jump function; they'll surely be nifty as well so long as everything controls easily. It has also been confirmed that Batman can eject into a glide from the Batmobile - as seen in the trailer - at any time in the actual game. Frankly, that just sounds awesome.
