9. Battle Royale
At this point, the Arkham brand is basically a license to print money, so it's understandable that WB might be more than a little hesitant to close up shop without squeezing the series for all it's worth. Should WB give an Arkham Knight sequel the green light, it would obviously happen under a new developer, but where do they go from there? Well, with the Dark Knight's supposed demise as our jumping-off point, a few possibilities emerge as the basis for the next game. One such scenario is an adaptation of Battle For The Cowl, an event which saw the various factions of the Bat-family clashing over the mantle of the Bat. It certainly seems like the most sensible option going forward, and I think the free-for-all nature of the story would make for one hell of a game - as the premise would allow developers to carry over the character-switching mechanics from Arkham Knight for a bigger focus on synchronized gameplay. And, with the various factions of the Bat-family going at each other's throats, there's even the possibility of an interconnected narrative with multiple perspectives. After all, the "Knightfall Protocol" ending of Arkham Knight depicted a mugging by a group of thugs being foiled by Batman - leading fans to theorize that the man under the cowl could be anyone from Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, to Jason Todd, so it stands to reason that gamers are invested in exploring the fallout from Arkham Knight.
