Batman: Arkham Knight: 10 Things It Must Learn From Shadow Of Mordor

9. Enemies Should Have Weaknesses/Strengths

In order to help battle scenarios feel more interesting and unique, Shadow Of Mordor's Captains and Warchiefs have their own personal strengths and weaknesses. For example, one might be afraid of Caragors (and flee in terror once Talion sets one free) while another might actually be strengthened by an appearance from the beasts. It makes your research and intel on an enemy vital; you don't want to walk in and accidentally give them the upper-hand straight away, after all. Is there a hero that would suit this system better than Batman? After all, so much of his character is based upon the idea of inflicting fear into others; his very identity is derived from it. By interrogating thugs, Batman could learn the weaknesses of a 'Captain' within the criminal underworld and then use that weakness against him. For example, one villain could be terrified of the dark; Batman could cut the lights to a room he's currently in and take advantage of his fear. It's a known fact that Bruce Wayne likes to prepare for every small eventuality so it's not inconceivable that he has a bunch of tricks and gadgets on his belt that could terrify villains with ease. Flashbangs to disorient the enemy? Bat-Bait to attract bats to a winged rodent-hating thug? A sudden appearance of the Batmobile through a wall to startle a group? With a helpful dose of imagination, Rocksteady could take Monolith's system and run riot.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
