Batman: Arkham Knight - 9 Reasons Why Season Of Infamy Is Already A Disappointment

4. It's Recycling Old Assets

Like them or not, Rocksteady have never been too adept with boss encounters, but Mr Freeze's confrontation in Arkham City was a very big exception. Warner Bros. Montréal offered their own twist on the fight in Origins' story add-on, Cold, Cold Heart, but it was pretty much a straight up recycle of his boss fight in Arkham City. It always sucks when developers reuse assets instead of innovating and improving on an experience, so Mr Freeze's presence can only be described as lamentable. Again, this is another character who's been given more than ample development in the Arkham saga, and there's pretty much no way Rocksteady could top his fight from their first sequel to Asylum. If deployed as a villain you can almost guarantee that his combat encounters will rehash the same stealth mechanics as last time, which while fun, aren't going to provoke fans into buying the season pass upon its release, nor make the Season of Infamy worthy of a purchase on its own.
