Batman: Arkham Knight - 9 Ways The Joker Could Still Show Up
7. Bruce Wayne's Own Mind
According to the plot synopsis for Arkham Knight, Batman will struggle to come to terms with the Joker's death. Batman stories often explore this idea - it's often stated that the Dark Knight cannot function without his arch-nemesis. Expect that struggle to be fully explored by Rocksteady then; they've happily shown Bruce's inner demons on screen previously. The lingering memory of the Joker will definitely be explored early on in Arkham Knight's narrative as fans have yet to see the fallout from the final moments of Arkham City; skipping over the aftermath is not an option. Having been put under so much stress from the Joker's various crimes, Bruce's mind is not going to fix itself instantly. Arkham Knight might show a changed Bruce who is constantly being haunted by nightmares; his own mind preventing him from forgetting the events of Arkham City. A first-person nightmare sequence would be a really powerful moment if done right too; Arkham City's Scarecrow Easter Egg is a great example of how a switch to first-person view can really unsettle the player and make a memorable scene - re-using this idea and giving the Joker a starring role would be mightily impressive.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
