6. Ghostly Apparitions
What if Rocksteady decide to take that idea further though? Arkham Knight is set to be Rocksteady's last game in the Arkham series; they could do some serious damage to Bruce and put a definitive end to the Dark Knight's story. Bruce's fragile, tired mind could begin to play tricks on him with ghostly visions of the Joker appearing to taunt and mock Bruce, even from beyond the grave. Admittedly, it would be a brave move for Rocksteady to portray Bruce in this manner but it's not beyond the realms of doubt. Fighting crime, night after night, has to take it's toll on the guy, especially when he's fighting a series of crazed lunatics.
Metal Gear is a series which incorporates ghostly figures into the series really well, especially the third instalment Snake Eater, which offers final, lingering glimpses at certain characters as well as creating exciting gameplay moments. Of course, Arkham Knight is going to be nothing like Metal Gear Solid but that's just an example of how Rocksteady could have taken influence from other titles; combined with the developer's love for breaking the fourth wall, fans could definitely see a spectral visit or two from the Joker.
