Batman: Arkham Knight Reviews - 10 Early Critical Reactions You Need To See

10. The Graphics Are Simply Mesmerizing

"Gotham is a dazzling playground where neon lights pierce through the rain and mist; all it takes is a single glimpse to tell you that this is a city in need." - Kevin VanOrd, GameSpot.com "From the perfect droplets of rain running down Batman€™s cowl to the almost impossible level of visual detail in Gotham€™s streets and structures, it€™s easy to forget that Batman is meant to be fighting crime and not just soaring above the city€™s diverse architecture, gaping at the sights." - Steve Tilley, TorontoSun.com
Described by critic Steve Farrelly as "a living postcard only Gotham could create", Arkham Knight's take on Batman's stomping grounds is an absolutely jaw-dropping showcase for what the PS4's capable of when developers really tap into the full extent of the machine's power. Much of the praise directed at Arkham Knight makes mention of the game's astonishing visuals, and after seeing the game in action, it's certainly easy to see why by anybody with a working pair of eyes. Gotham City is lovingly rendered with the utmost attention to every single detail, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. Every one of the city's three islands is instantly distinguishable from one another, and each has a flair and style all it's own - from the towering skyscrapers of Founders' Island to the slums of Bleake; and the rain-swept streets of Gotham glisten with every little bead of moisture. Have you ever played a game so ridiculously beautiful that you've stopped for a moment to simply stare at the scenery? Well, this one isn't going to help you break the habit.
