"While I didn't take to Arkham Knight's car combat right away, once the tank had been outfitted with drone-disabling EMPs and a virus that took control of enemies, it felt a lot less like a roadblock keeping me from more gliding and punching." - Justin McElroy, Polygon "The best Batmobile moments are tied to the Riddler€™s races and puzzles (which are gonzo and over-the-top), and environmental navigation that taps the winch for a number of tasks" - Andrew Reiner, GameInformer.com
Rocksteady have continuously reinvented themselves in regards to creating the definitive Batman experience with each successive installment, and their games have been packed to bursting with odds and ends from the Dark Knight's 75-year history - everything from exclusive skins and characters to every Bat-gadget under the sun. But despite this, there's always been one glaring omission staring fans straight in the face: the Batmobile. Well, it's finally here, and despite complaints citing some of the vehicle's more unbalanced aspects and an over-reliance on tank combat, early word suggests that it's strengths outweigh it's weaknesses, and the addition of some rather cool gadgets offers a fresh approach to gameplay. Several critics have detailed the implementation of a remote-control function which presents a number of thoroughly inventive ways of approaching enemies from numerous angles, and many of the Riddler's challenges are comprised of courses and puzzles designed to take full advantage of the vehicle's capabilities and gadgets, such as a grapnel winch which can be utilized to pull various objects.
