Batman: The Enemy Within Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs

3. It's Full Of Entertaining Set-Pieces

Batman The Enemy Within Fight
Telltale

Telltale action sequences are, in fairness, pretty much all the same: they're quick-time events where you press a few buttons and get to watch the protagonist kick a lot of a**.

While this is mostly true in The Enemy Within also, the action is at least plentiful and sharply directed, and there are a few key additions which make things a little more exciting than usual.

There are several new input options during both puzzles and combat, namely the ability to choose between different takedown methods for enemies. Though the puzzles still aren't very interesting, at least the Saw-like nature of their construction is a good deal more entertaining than the usual fare.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that this is some of the best action from any of Telltale's Batman games to date, and hopefully the remaining four episodes will manage to keep it this diverse and energetic.
