Battlefield 1: 9 Big Worries We Have After The Beta

6. Where's My Ticket?

Battlefield 1
EA/DICE

With how fundamental the Conquest game mode is to the overall Battlefield experience, DICE knows they have to tread on eggshells when contemplating making even the slightest tweak to its formula.

Given that fact, it's surprising that the studio decided to completely remove the ticket scoring system that's been in place since, well, forever. Don't change what isn't broken, right?

With the system gone, there's no longer any team-wide penalty to a member of your team biting the bullet, as respawns no longer deduct from the total score. Likewise, capturing and holding points now only causes your team's score to rise at a steadier rate as opposed to putting pressure on the opposing side's counter.

One can only assume the change was made in order to place greater emphasis on objectives rather than racking up kills, but a sense of urgency has been lost in translation.

Here's to hoping DICE isn't averse to considering a reversion.
