Battlefield 1: 9 Big Worries We Have After The Beta

5. Sinai Is A Poor Choice Of Map

B1 Sinai
EA/DICE

This has already been touched on in previous entries, but the observation deserves much more scrutiny than a passing mention. Sinai Desert isn't a good map - that's not just a subjective statement - it's plagued by issues involving imbalance and blandness.

The windswept and blood-soaked dunes of the Egyptian peninsula may look fantastic rendered in DICE's Frostbite engine, but what use is a gorgeous vista if you're not enjoying the time spent there?

As is the nature of deserts, a large portion of Sinai is devoid of anything other than sand and open space, so attempting to cross it on foot will likely achieve nothing other than a bullet in the head.

Yeah, you're best off just hiding among that small cluster of ruined buildings in the corner. Good idea, that way, enemy vehicles can just roll up to the front door and lay waste to your entire crew.

Don't bother trying to escape, there's a battalion of snipers just waiting for you poke your head out.
