Battlefield 1: 9 Big Worries We Have After The Beta

3. Unwieldy Weapons

Credit where credit's due, DICE has so far done a bang-up job of making Battlefield 1 feel like an authentic, historic shooter. Weapons sound monstrous with each pull of the trigger, the stunning visuals give way to an unrivalled sense of spectacle and performance is top-notch.

But all of those positives seem to come at the expense of solid, finely-tuned gameplay.

As of now, it's already difficult to down enemies due to the relative weakness of most firearms, but not helping the matter is how alien some feel when placed in your hands.

For one reason or another, projectile spread seems to be all over the place, with bullets flying far wide of whatever target you happen to have in your iron sights; the issue being especially noticeable with single-shot weapons like the Medic's rifle.

I remain hopeful that DICE intends to take a second look at Battlefield 1's armoury in order to improve aim assist for the full release.
