Battlefield 1: 9 Big Worries We Have After The Beta
2. Know Your Enemy
I get it, Battlefield 1 takes place during a period in history where advanced radar technology and unmanned surveillance drones were the stuff of dreams for the military but, believe it or not, human beings still had ears during the dawn of the 20th century.
Right now, Battlefield 1's minimap is a borderline useless feature that does little to give players feedback on what's happening around them, as weapon fire no longer causes a red blip to pop up to designate which direction you're getting shot from.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting all bent out of shape over DICE's reluctance to be historically inaccurate; the inclusion of UAVs or satellite scans would be absurd - but our own auditory senses can easily pinpoint the direction from which a sound is coming.
