Battlefield 2018: 8 Leaked Details You're Not Supposed To Know

4. Microtransactions Will Be Cosmetic Only

A sticking point going into future EA games is just how much the company is going to push microstransactions and loot boxes. Although they took a huge amount of flack for the implementation of them in Battlefront 2, it's clear the publisher isn't backing away from the practice entirely, with microtransactions returning to the game in March.

Fortunately the upcoming Battlefield, although once again set to include one-time purchases like loot boxes, will limit these microtransactions to cosmetics only.

While Battlefield has never included game-changing buffs or encouraged a pay-to-win model, the follow up to BF1 thankfully won't allow players to outright buy anything that substantially impacts gameplay.

I'm sure players would rather not have any microtransactions at all, but when the next Battlefield does eventually hit shelves, at least it shouldn't be as mired in controversy as some of EA's other big releases.
