Battlefield 4: 10 Impressions From The Beta

6. Counter Knifing Is Great Fun

Counter Knife It can be argued that counter knifing is way too easy, but this is beta and maybe the animation or range and distance need to be fixed. In saying that there is nothing better than an enemy attempting a frontal knife assault only to have the tides turn, no longer will someone be able to hop around you like a bunny in heat and be able to knife you in the confusion. There were moments I turned around at the last second only to quickly hit the button and counter a sneaky knife attack (the beauty of surround sound headphones). I very rarely used my knife in BF3 only when I was sure that it was only me and one other person in the room but I can see my blade getting more of a chance in BF4.

5. Level Exclusive Weapons Are Cool

Weapon I couldn€™t believe my luck when myself and my team were being attacked on the top of the skyscraper by assault choppers: it was inevitable that this was the end for us as no one had thought it apt to spawn as an engineer. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw a weapon, which glimmered,so I ran to it and picked up the RPG with lock in capabilities. I turned to the first helicopter, locked on and boom, turned to the next locked on and boom then dove out the window as the building came crashing down. Those are the types of hero moments BF is made of. There was also an exclusive sniper rifle on the map but I was never able to find it. This makes it interesting, not only does it respawn when the person carrying it dies but you also can€™t run around the map with it, limiting access to one area. It also means that if you were in a situation like mine there may be a way out other than diving off the building and hoping the chopper pilot isn€™t a good shot.
