Battlefield 6: 10 Fatal Mistakes DICE Must Avoid
3. A Rushed Launch
Let's face it, DICE isn't the best when it comes to launching their games. Whilst many of them come to be fondly remembered over time, it's hard to forget the barely functional messes that have been pushed out the gate on certain occasions.
And in a year where many players are still sore about several recent overhyped and rushed releases, the overwhelming scepticism amongst paying customers means there isn't much room for error.
Especially if DICE has another release like Battlefield 4.
Remembered today as a standout in an already excellent series, Battlefield 4 was unplayable at launch. Connection issues, lag, flying LAVs - it's a miracle payers stuck with the game as long as they did. Even EA called the release "unacceptable."
Although Battlefield V's launch wasn't quite as bad, it did have a number of issues, most notably with the game's TTK, which DICE both raised, and then lowered, in the same week.
Juxtaposed with a few other notable issues, Battlefield V's opening foray made DICE come across looking like they were just a little bit lost.
For Battlefield 6, this needs to be avoided at all cost.
