Battlefield 6: 9 Settings DICE Should Use

2. Iraq/Afghanistan

Battlefield 6
DICE

Visited already by the immensely popular Battlefield 3, the next entry in the series could look to cover more military exploits in the countries of Iraq and/or Afghanistan, or in similar countries like Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan.

The question (I believe) is whether DICE decide to go for a realistic angle on the fighting in the Eurasian territories or have a fabricated war that just happens to be going on in the same locations and have been “inspired” by the conflict(s) in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.

While they probably wouldn’t reference any real life incidents or names, I imagine from a studio perspective, especially one the size of EA, one needs to consider political ramifications from posing a country as the "face of the enemy". This may be especially important when its tied to a conflict that’s so recent in many peoples’ memories, as some players may have even lost family members fighting in these areas.

I may be drastically overthinking this, but I think rather than unnecessarily recreate a rather traumatic war, it would be more sensible to create a fictional war, and just let players blow things up in it.

Everybody wins.
