Before GTA V: 10 Classic GTA Features That Caused Major Controversy

6. Glamorous Representations of Insane Criminality

Let's all be totally honest now, despite how cool, badass, take-no-prisoners or otherwise inspiring GTA's protagonists and casts of character might be, generally, they're all pretty loathsome criminals at their core. One thing people (generally parents) seem to worry about constantly is the idea that if they let their kids play, they'll grow up thinking that insane criminality is cool, badass, inspiring and so on. And maybe they would, if they were born and subsequently left in a room for the entirety of their childhood with only the GTA series and a couple of consoles to keep them company. And if you've done that to your own child, can you really blame the game for how they turn out? Still, parents love a scapegoat, some defining reason for why their kids are the way they are and they rarely tend to look inward for the answer. As long as GTA exists at all, concerned parents will be citing it as the devil the world over thanks in no small part to the way in which it presents criminality through its characters.
