Before GTA V: 5 Reasons Why Skyrim Is Better Than Grand Theft Auto

2. The A.I Is Alive

The A.I (artificial intelligence) in GTA titles of old has always been so very placid, docile and disinterested. You could walk down a street in Liberty City a hundred times and not once encounter an attempt on your life. The pedestrians that milled around beside you would happily and mindlessly ignore you, and never attempt to cause you harm. In fact, the only time the A.I would attack you was in missions, if you had a wanted level or if you picked a fight with the wrong guy. Skyrim's A.I on the other hand is the total opposite. You could be wandering through a forest minding your own business only for anything from a wolf, bear, tarantula or dragon to appear ex-nihilo and try to kill you. You could be assaulted by a bandit or a mage at any given time in the game, and due to the sporadic nature of dragons, they too could attack you at any given moment, making the forests and frozen wastelands of Skyrim much, much more lethal than the streets of Liberty City.
