2. Duck Shooting (Episode 3: Long Road Ahead)
http://youtu.be/L1kCmIl54TE I have to admit now that this moment broke my damn heart in two. After Kenny's son Lee is scratched in a walker attack, it's only a matter of time until he dies. Then it's only a matter of time until he lives again. And not in a good way. By this point in the game, we've started to really bond with Kenny and Katja and with their son too. So it's actually devastating to see them toil over who will blow his brains out so he doesn't turn. If you were any sort of Lee, you'd have done it yourself, but there are a few other ways this can play out. Whoever does the deed (failure to make the call will result in Duck actually turning, breaking Kenny's heart further) it's an unbelievably dark day in the Walking Dead universe - which was pitch black to begin with - and only the most emotionally guarded can come away from this scene completely unscathed. How It Affects The Story Again, your decisions leading up to Duck's inevitable death affect the way a few different characters look at Lee. You've obviously lost Duck (and as a resultwill lose Katja too - the poor woman can't take it any more and commits suicide before seeing her son die, or worse, turn). Kenny is obviously greatly affected by the almost instantaneous loss of both his wife and child and going into episode 4, he's in a sort of angry denial about the whole thing. It's probably one of the most emotionally charged moments in the series so far, thanks to that strong attachment we've built with the victims in question over the course of previous episodes.
