Black Ops 2: 10 Reasons CoD is No Longer the King of Online Multiplayer

9. Franchise Apathy

How many Call of Duty games have there been by now? I used to be an avid fan, and I played from CoD 2 right up to Modern Warfare 2 with a smile on my face. In fact, when the first Modern Warfare first came out, I was as addicted to its multiplayer mode as anyone else. But even as I played Modern Warfare 2, I felt the shadowy fingers of apathy unfurl themselves within me. €œThis is just more of the same€, I thought to myself, as I rapidly grew bored. Even online, I struggled to conjure up the interest and soon after completing the single-player campaign, the game got traded in. You might say €œmore of the same means more awesome!€ Maybe you€™re right, but for many of us out there who yearn for something fresh, the CoD franchise has ceased to do it for us.
