16. The Visuals
According to the developers, Black Ops 2 will look better than any Call of Duty title yet, thanks to a complete graphical engine overhaul, and every video released so far has confirmed that Treyarch have succeeded in making a genuine visual delight... http://youtu.be/x3tedlWs1XY And if that wasn't enough, the game will also run at 60 frames per second, making for an even smoother, better-looking shooter experience.
17. ESports
When game design director David Vonderhaar spoke to The Verge he mentioned e-sports, and how they will play a part in exactly how the game has been developed. Though Black Ops was on the Major League Gaming circuit at the time nobody on the Treyarch team seems to have fully comprehend the significance of competitive gaming, but that has now changed:
"E-sports is a big agenda for us. More importantly, taking e-sports to the mainstream is a really key thing, but in order to do that you have to make the game fun to watch."
They aren't saying how exactly they might achieve that, but anything that makes the gameplay compelling enough for an audience to watch in a competitive gaming environment has surely got to be good for the gamer. And again, that suggests less of a casual approach, considering the contradiction between the game being appropriate for competition and casual accessibility.
