As the action spills outside, you get to witness more gratuitous, wildly unnecessary violence, as another pesky fan or cooling unit falls from the towers (for some reason), crushing at least three or four soldiers who, naturally enough, didn't think to look up in case they might have their lights snuffed out by one of these monstrosities. It's brutal, but at the same time, it's hard not to laugh. Plus, it's about as visually interesting as the series has ever looked.
7. That Insane Taylor Boss Fight
The game's kinda-final boss sees Taylor taking control of an NRC mothership, which opens fire on your position with reckless abandon, while Kane tries to level the playing field by sending some armaments your way. It's a pretty simple, classic FPS battle, where you have to use a mini-gun to destroy the ship's thrusters, but of course, there's added challenge with the fact that the ship can destroy most of your cover, and will periodically send remote slicer bombs and other robots to try and kill you. It's fairly easy but also totally insane, and perhaps the most convincing argument that even the non-Treyarch CoD games could do with throwing a few crazy boss fights into the mix every now and then. Once you blow all the thrusters, of course, what goes up most come down, and the ship just barely avoids crushing you to death as it crash-lands.
