Borderlands 3: Everything We Know So Far

2. It's An Epic Games Store Exclusive

While fans have been ridiculously happy to see Borderlands back in the industry, it has come with a pretty sour footnote. Following plenty of hotly-anticipated games, Gearbox's sequel is set to be an Epic Games Store exclusive when it comes to PC, with a regular Steam release being lined up for mid-2020.

Pretty much every title that's been linked to Epic's store recently has received a huge wave of backlash against it, and Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford made an effort to get out ahead of it. In a series of tweets, he made it clear that the developers themselves had no input into the game's pricing or the platforms it would release on, essentially passing the buck to publisher 2K.

Still, it hasn't stopped a chunk of the fanbase from feeling a little burned by Borderlands 3, but it probably won't stop it selling like gangbusters.
