The best thing about Borderlands spending so much time on ice, and Gearbox refusing to show anything until they were ready, is that the developers have minimised the turnaround on the project.

They've come out swinging with trailers, reveals, and promises of gameplay footage even though the game has only been "official" for a few weeks, and they've even delivered a date for when fans can expect the sequel: September 13, 2019.

It's been a long seven years, but thankfully Gearbox won't keep fans dangling for too long now.
