9. LOADS Of Characters Are Returning

Although it became primarily adored because of its great loot system, inspired art style and solid multiplayer gameplay, the Borderlands series has actually cultivated quite the extensive cast of lovable characters and a story that the fandom is completely enamoured with.

Thankfully, with the third game, fans are going to be able to call in on plenty of fan-favourite characters who awarded the previous titles so much personality. The returning cast is pretty extensive, with three of the four original Vault Hunters - Lilith, Mordecai and Brick - all being present in the trailer.

Apart from those iconic hunters though, Tiny Tina, Maya, Zero, Vaughn, Moxxi and Ellie, Marcus, Tannis, Hammerlock, Aurelia and, of course, Claptrap, can all be spotted. What's interesting is that some of these characters only ever appeared in Telltale's spin-off title, Tales From the Borderlands, seemingly indicating that the events of that series are going to be important when this third game's story comes into full view.
