6. No Recharge For The Master Sword

One of the most maligned parts of Breath Of The Wild - the one thing everyone took issue with out of the gate - was the weapon durability, but we'll get more into that in a bit. For this entry, we're talking about what should be done about the master sword.

Obviously, it would be kind of stupid for the blade of evil's bane to shatter into a million pieces about five minutes after you pulled it out of its stone. So in the original the devs just made it require a recharge after a certain amount of hits. This was a decent enough compromise, but it still happened way too often to really be useful. The point of the master sword is that it is a weapon crafted by the gods specifically to fight the forces of darkness. So why does it have such a glaring weakness?

In the BOTW sequel, one good fix to this is to just make it exempt from the rule entirely, to never wear down. But this would still leave the other weapons with a use since - for one - you will always need your bow and arrow. But if the master sword doesn't have any elemental bonuses like other swords, and doesn't have the reach or sheer knockdown power of a spear and axe, then you will never not need those other weapons.

There are other ways to handle this than to make us think that Fi is getting back at us for making fun of her for 6 years.
