Breath Of The Wild 2: 10 Features The Zelda Sequel MUST Include

5. DLC Carry Over

BOTW 2 TRAILER
Nintendo

For the first time since Phantom Hourglass on the Nintendo DS, we will have a straight up, direct sequel to a previous Zelda game, that takes place in the same universe. And while they tried to have Link not have any of his super useful items he got in Wind Waker and hand waved it off, here they don't really have to hit the reset button.

The puzzle solving items are all mapped to the Sheikah Slate, which they're almost guaranteed to carry over. But there's one thing that Phantom Hourglass didn't have to deal with: DLC. If we're still playing as Link in this sequel (and the fan theories of Zelda having shorter hair meaning we get to play as her are wrong) then this sequel would greatly benefit from going the Mass Effect route, and allowing you to import all the gear you got from the first BOTW.

Oh, and one other thing: the bike. By all that is holy, the sequel better let us keep the bike.
