Breath Of The Wild 2: 5 Things We Want (And 5 We Don’t)
1. Don't: Easily Breakable Weaponry
It's safe to say that Breath of the Wild's version of link is like a kid in a candy store when it comes to picking weapons - especially when compared to his previous incarnations. Fans may love the Master Sword and all those who've wielded it, but the chance to strike out with a new set of battle instruments was great. But, it did lead to one of the most divisive complaints in the game.
On one half of the LOZ fandom are a set of people who despise the weapon degradation mechanic, as when you work hard to get a powerful piece of loot, the last thing you want to do is break it. Then on the other side are those who adore its unpredictable nature and thrive on finding new means to fight.
The best way for Breath of the Wild 2 to please both sides is to think of a middle road that could appease all fans. One such way to do so is to alter the breakable weapon mechanic but still leave a challenge. Allowing the weapons to be a little more durable would be a great call, and a weapon repair system would also benefit many players.
There would still need to be a limit - such as a weapon only being repairable once - but it would make many fans happy.
