Breath Of The Wild 2: 5 Things We Want (And 5 We Don’t)
2. Do: Dungeons!
This list has already given its two cents on the number of shrines in the game, but now it's time to take that a step further and talk about one central LOZ trope that was not found in Breath of the Wild.
Dungeons are a tonne of fun, as they introduce the player to new and challenging areas, with a focus on puzzles, unique aesthetics and boss fights. Which is why their absence in BOTW left quite a big hole.
The game seemed to replace larger dungeon sections with the Divine Beast segments, and while these were wonderful moments, they did feel somewhat repetitive and lacked that sense of full exploration.
Although Breath of the Wild's subversions from the classic Zelda formula were a plus point, the sequel should still seek to add this classic part of the series in.
Breath of the Wild 2's answer to this one is very straightforward. By reducing the amount of Sheikah Shrines, they could leave plenty of room to introduce some dungeons. They don't even need to significantly affect the story, so long as they are fun, unique, and rewarding.
