Breath Of The Wild 2: 5 Things We Want (And 5 We Don’t)
7. Don't: Test Of Strength Shrines
Sheikah Shrines were a genius addition to Breath of the Wild, as the short puzzle-centric segments gave you a nice bite-sized challenge and were often full of decent rewards.
However, too much of a good thing can be a problem, and that's what happened here. The number of shrines, in general, should definitely be lessened in this sequel, and one set that deserves to go to the chopping block are the test of strength shrines.
Whether they are minor, modest or major, they don't present too much of a change to the overall game. Link is never far from battling it out against guardians, so to see a whole shrine dedicated to it doesn't present much of a challenge.
It does give players a great area to practice their fighting skills, but overall feels like a redundancy.
When it comes to Breath of the Wild 2, these segments shouldn't be eliminated altogether, but they should be given a far more modest number. There are twenty of them overall, and the sequel should bring that number down by at least half or more.
