Breath Of The Wild 2: 5 Things We Want (And 5 We Don’t)
6. Do: Registering Different Mounts
In an open world as big and expansive as Hyrule, you'd be foolish to spend most of your time on foot. That's something that the developers took into account as they expanded the mount roster from just Epona to any mountable animal you could find.
This wasn't just limited to horses, as you could also jump onto the backs of deer, stalhorses and even bears. But, good luck if you want to make any of these creatures your permanent ride.
Whenever you take control of a new beastie, you can take them to a stable, give them a name and use them as a legitimate companion. However, if you bring along anything that isn't a horse, you'll get turned away, and that's something that should change in the sequel.
Giving players the chance to spice up their permanent mounts would add some great variety to the game and could introduce some specific skills/benefits to certain animals.
For example, if you're riding a bear, maybe you can use them to attack. Further from this, it would also be great to see more mountable animals in general, as it's always fun to see what creatures you can tame.
