Breath Of The Wild 2: 5 Things We Want (And 5 We Don’t)
4. Do: Underwater Swimming
The legacy of water in Legend of Zelda is just as wild and dangerous as the sea itself.
Underwater levels can often be a huge source of frustration in gaming, but they're also an incredibly inviting avenue to explore fresh aquatic worlds.
LOZ has infamously dipped its toes into this pool with the water temple from Ocarina of Time, and while many people look on that segment as the bane of their time in Hyrule, it's something Nintendo should have another go at.
When first jumping into a fresh spring or flowing river in Breath of the Wild, plenty of players were disappointed that they couldn't go under the surface. It's often expected that you can go anywhere in open-world games like this, so this sudden barrier did feel like a missed opportunity for some.
It's clear that Breath of the Wild 2 is seeking to expand the land of Hyrule into the skies, so why not take a peek under the waves as well? Allowing players to swim underwater would significantly change the title and allow for a wonderful new set of explorable areas.
If Zora armour can make you swim against gravity, then surely it should help you submerge.
