Call Of Duty: 15 Iconic Moments That Confirm Its Genius

3. Black Ops 2 €“ Green Run

Black Ops 2 is without a doubt the most represented individual Call Of Duty game in this list with very good reason. Once again they reinvented the rules concerning their premiere feature for a new entry and blew everyone away with it. With a new game engine (BLOPS2 uses the multiplayer engine for Zombies for a vastly improved experience), completely new features, a larger and expansive map and with an even more unique cast of characters, the new Zombies is an unrivalled experience. One of the new features is a brilliant travel feature that connects interconnected areas (in essence mini-maps about the size of Nacht from World At War) of the world-map €“ a bus. Now that may not seem so exciting, but the bus itself is a staple of the zombie genre (see Dawn Of The Dead) and with various upgrades scattered around a scavenger hunt element is added. Then the characters (including a female that is playable in ensuing maps) are a joy, with dialogue not out of place in a Hollywood blockbuster €“ especially considering one is possessed by the spirit of Richtofen. And what of the "choice" mentioned not one entry ago? Similar to the previous zombie maps in earlier instalments there exists a storyline Easter-egg in Green Run to continue the overall narrative. However in this case you can choose whose path to follow: Maxis or Richtofen. Without delving into the actual game mechanics, your choice means different objectives for completion with various rewards in later maps. Giving the player full disclosure for whom to support is smart on Treyarch's part and proves once again that they will evolve with the times and continue to provide great moments for the consumer.

I’ve been a film fan for as long as I can remember, with one of my earliest memories watching my dad’s copy of Star Wars one rainy afternoon in the mid-nineties. Then the 21st century happened, and my interests developed from there – mainly including comics and video-games, and recently an introduction into WWE. It’s a good time for popular culture.
