Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare - 10 Killer Features It Must Have
5. Destructible Environments
Thanks to vast improvements in physics engines, gamers are able to see the effects of their explosive nature first hand. In Battlefield, for example, you can level entire buildings by repeatedly blowing chunks out of them and Gears of War allowed us to chip away at enemy cover to slowly make them an easier target. Bullet penetration has been a key feature for Call of Duty since the revolutionary Modern Warfare and it's a feature that separates the series from its peers. Should we demand more though? Advanced Warfare will feature a new engine which will undoubtedly host further improvements to physics and details, allowing for better-looking and more realistic destruction. Seeing stuff blow up through set pieces and cutscenes isn't enough; we should be able to shape the battlefield ourselves with our own recklessness. Even smaller details could help this effect; when bullets penetrate through a wall, how about we see bullet holes? If an enemy is hiding behind a brick wall, should we not be able to blow that wall up to unveil them? It would be a shame if Advanced Warfare was held back because its futuristic technology couldn't put a dent in an ordinary garden fence. Likelihood: Likely. Call of Duty doesn't need to become a Battlefield clone but it could certainly benefit from a little inspiration. Sledgehammer's head honchos were previously at EA so perhaps the company's destructive tendencies have rubbed off on them.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
