Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare - 10 Killer Features It Must Have
4. Massive Scale Warfare
You may argue that Battlefield is a superior series in many ways, but few can argue that it possesses a much bigger sense of scale than Call of Duty. Battlefield's online allows for a maximum of 64 players in one match (even more if you're on the PC) and as such its maps are huge with a variety of landscapes and areas combined into one. Battle is possible in the air, at sea and on the land at once, and its why the series has always maintained such a hardcore fanbase. Call of Duty doesn't need to replicate that fully but it would be nice to be involved in larger battles. Multiplayer aside, Advanced Warfare has the opportunity to set its campaign during large scale skirmishes, featuring a variety of futuristic vehicles and weapons. With the power of the next gen consoles, we should be able to look around in awe at the surroundings generated for us; fully immersing ourselves in a futuristic war. This could also tie in to the improvements in mobility; multi-levelled areas with branching paths could make for more interesting combat scenarios and would benefit those who prefer a different style of gameplay (sniping sections could be featured throughout the game instead of being bundled up into one level). With Titanfall and Battlefield showing the advantages of upping the scales, Sledgehammer has the opportunity to deliver an experience that matches the grand scale of EA's FPS titles whilst also maintaining that classic Call of Duty feel that would better it. Likelihood: Unclear. The teaser definitely shows a variety of large areas with futuristic vehicles and weapons galore but whether we'll be playing them or watching them is another matter. If Advanced Warfare wants to be a success, it needs to consider letting us play them.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
