Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 10 Reasons The Series Should Return To World War 2

9. Three Different COD Games All Set In the Future Is Too Much

Speaking of fatigue, it's absolutely ridiculous that Activision has three different developers working on three entirely separate Call of Duty series', with each game still managing to end up virtually identical ever year. While both Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty: Ghosts tip-toed into the future, introducing a wide array of imaginative weapons and abilities in their respective games, with the release of last year's Advanced Warfare and the upcoming Black Ops 3 it's clear that as a whole the series will be keeping the sci-fi jetpacks and double-jumps moving forward. Which is a fine trajectory in itself for one, even two of these developers, but to have every upcoming entry in the series boasting these same features? It completely defeats the point of having separate games in the first place if they're going to play more or less the same. With the franchise's sales plateauing and slowly starting to decline year on year, it's completely baffling as to why Activision continues to pump out a game every November that's so similar to the last. By having three completely different series', the publisher can easily create a sense of refreshment, or more than that, garner a sense of expectation and hype with each release. If there's a three year wait between each futuristic Call of Duty, then you better believe it will create a crazy amount of hype and hunger players wait for it.
