Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review - 8 Ups & 4 Downs

3. Split-Screen Support Is Surprisingly Comprehensive

In an age where less and less developers seem willing to allow local split-screen play in their games, Treyarch should be commended for offering a surprisingly extensive array of split-screen options in Black Ops 4.

Split-screen allows two players in conventional multiplayer, up to four in Zombies mode, and most shockingly of all, even two player split-screen for Blackout. Though split-screen Blackout is admittedly a little on the wonky side, clearly pushing current console tech close to its limits, it's still incredible that Treyarch even bothered to do it at all.

As easy as it is to look at this game and see it as a cynical sign of the times, it at least deserves praise for keeping local play firmly in mind.
