Call Of Duty: Every Treyarch Zombies Map Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Call Of The Dead
After several experiences with the same group of characters, Black Ops 1's Call of the Dead saw the first all-star cast in Danny Trejo, Robert Englund, Michael Rooker, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Also starring was the "Godfather of all zombies, George Romero." Not only playing himself as a director on set, but a constantly roaming boss, a unique first in the zombies saga.
Set in a rather chilly Siberia, our Ultimis characters are still present, but locked behind a door (which plays a huge part in the map's easter egg). An always on the move, truly kinetic design to this map meant you were never left with a moment to catch your breath. Be it because George had eventually made his way to your camping spot, the ice-cold water was quite literally freezing over your vision, or the Pack a Punch had moved again.
Call of the Dead even had a sense of verticality with the lighthouse, ziplines, multiple floors with open sightlines, and managed to blend them into gameplay much more seamlessly than Die Rise could have ever dreamed.
A loving tribute to the late George Romero can be found in Tag der Toten, the Black Ops 4 Call of the Dead remake. The player can find a pair of glasses sitting upon a table, above the room where the door holding the Ultimis characters is located. Interacting with it results in the character speaking a line paying tribute to a 'true legend.' Lovely.
