Call Of Duty: Ranking Every Game Mode From Worst To Best
9. Demolition
Demolition has been missing from just a handful of games since it made its debut in Modern Warfare 2. It's omission always provokes a degree of uproar from a proportion of the fanbase given that it has always been one of the more popular objective game modes. Just as high of a proportion is indifferent, mind, as the wrong game can cross the line from just being chaotic to being downright unenjoyable.
With offensive players given a bomb and two targets to destroy and defensive players tasked with stopping them, a typical Demolition match goes one of four ways. The first sees the offensive team completely overwhelm their counterparts. The second sees a defensive masterclass that sees the offensive team shut out.
The third sees one target fall and the second become a war of attrition. This outcome is the mode at its greatest, as it sees players on both teams amass huge scores as the attackers and defenders earn like-for-like kills on each other, with occasional plants of the bomb matched by fearless defuses.
The fourth is the mode at its most frustrating. As the mode gives each team a fixed spawn point, it has always been highly popular with those looking to ignore the objective and inflate their KD/R by spawn trapping. Sadly, this is just as common if not more so than the others.
