Call Of Duty: Ranking Every Game Mode From Worst To Best
8. Search And Rescue
Much like Reinforce merged Search And Destroy with Domination, Ghosts took the elimination mechanic of the former and blended it with the elements of another core game mode, Kill Confirmed, to create a unique experience in the form of Search And Rescue, which has since recurred in both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games' contributions to the series (but not the latter's WW2).
In the vein of Search and Destroy, Search and Rescue gives each player one life per round. In the vein of Kill Confirmed, it makes each fallen player drop dog tags. If this kill is confirmed then the player in question is eliminated, but if it is denied they are revived. This presents an interesting dilemma, as whilst attempting to confirm a kill is a natural reaction and would be advantageous, it's almost a certainty that one or multiple opponents are keeping a keen eye on their downed ally and waiting to pick off anybody that succumbs to instinct.
Each match is a tense affair and as is the case with so many other modes, coordination makes a huge difference to success. The tide can be quickly turned as the odds of victory are slashed or heightened with each tag interaction and there is rarely a dull round.
