Call Of Duty: Ranking Every Game Mode From Worst To Best

7. Domination/Switch

Call Of Duty Modes
Activision

Domination is the epitome of a double-edged blade, as it can either be hugely fun or massively frustrating, with very little margin between the two. A competitive game where both teams are neck and neck throughout as each controls one of the three flags and constantly jostles for the second is a rollercoaster from start to finish, as strategic movements behind enemy lines and heroic sacrifices to ensure captures can play a huge part in the outcome.

On the flip side, however, up to half of the field in any given game seems intent in farming kills whilst ignoring the objective completely. This can lead to bizarre scenarios where the team that has been systematically massacred emerge victorious, but more often than not it leads to players constantly quitting in rage as they are spawn killed for the tenth time in a row.

More infuriating still is being put into such a one-sided contest midway through the game, where the majority will reluctantly take the loss stat that comes with quitting rather than attempt to overcome an insurmountable lead (only to frequently be put straight back into the same game upon their next lobby search).

Mobilized (where Domination was absent) offered a free-for-all take in the form of Switch, but this has never appeared in another title and is too insignificant for mention elsewhere.
