Call Of Duty: WW2 Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs
1. There's No Ground War Mode
Even more disappointing than the abundance of loot box garbage is the fact that WW2 features no Ground War mode, a long-time staple of the CoD franchise which allowed up to 18 players to play together, rather than the usual 12.
Sadly, WW2's multiplayer seems to be capped at 12 players, and while it's possible a Ground War playlist could be released in the future, the existing maps were clearly all designed for 12 players, so it doesn't seem terribly likely.
Considering that 18 players already feels like a pretty far cry from Battlefield 1's insane 64 players, it's a damn shame that this has been reduced for no real discernible reason.
Yes, the game moves so fast you probably won't realise how many players you're facing off against anyway, but damn if Ground War isn't conspicuously absent all the same.
Thankfully for the most part the new Call of Duty is a triumph, though, so here's everything it got right...
