Castlevania Season 3 Review: 5 Ups & 2 Downs

Downs...

2. The Pacing

Castelvania Season 3 Alucard
Netflix

One thing that you might find yourself noticing about the third season is how the pace begins to drag as it goes on, as certain characters fill out time with endless monologues that could have been wrapped five minutes earlier and a dream sequence or two also seem to drag on unnecessarily long. Furthermore, while some characters overcome a lot during these 10 episodes, others stay in the same place for far too long.

It doesn't happen often but as the show is usually so well-paced, it does unfortunately stick out here. And though it doesn't take away from the story per se, it's clear that this was a direct result of the extended episode count - which leaves this writer wondering if the season might have ran a little smoother had there been one or two less episodes.
