Crash Bandicoot 4: 10 Hardest Levels Ranked

Say hello to the most difficult backtracking section in the game.

When this level begins, you have to hop atop two separate lines of boxes that float along the level's first water section. The camera angle makes it harder for you to see where you're about to land, and if you miss, you're dead.

Once you get past this section, you get what's possibly the worst hidden gem in the game.

There's a completely obscured iron exclamation mark crate behind a barrel at a checkpoint section, which after you hit, you have to go back a few paces, veer the camera off to the side so that you can see the crates you've just activated, then slide jump your way over and pray that you land on top of them.

How is anyone supposed to know where this is without a walkthrough?

Anyway, next comes a decently-hard jetboard section, a not-so-bad autoscrolling gumbo boat section with some really fun box placement, but after that is a nightmarish jetboard section that sees you traverse downhill through a rapidly-cascading stream, hitting boxes and dodging TNT barrels, Nitro crates, and laser guns.

To make matters worse, the jetboard controls are once again not as good as the controls of yesteryear, and if you miss a box in this case, you can't go back - you have to add one to your death counter, which actually makes a difference in completing this game 100%.

Oh, and the N-Verted section makes this level 25% faster. Because f**k you.
