Crash Bandicoot: Ranking Every N. Sane Trilogy Boss Battle
11. Pinstripe Potoroo - Crash Bandicoot
Pinstripe Potoroo is another boss only present in the first Crash, but unlike Koala Kong and Papu Papu, Pinstripe has the personality to be higher.
The gangster potoroo angle makes for a very interesting character, so much so that weaker potoroos with machine guns are used in the levels nearby. There is an issue with difficulty which just keeps this out of the top ten though. The Crash games got slightly easier over time, with the first one being the trickiest even without the jumping tweaks and pillbox hitbox of the N Sane Trilogy.
It's a bit of a shame then that Pinstripe Potoroo is way more of a pushover than he should be. The bullet spitting attacks are simple to dodge once you learn the repetitive patterns, and while he does have six hit points, these are spread across only two stages. One stage sees him move around the room, the other has him on his desk. In his cramped office, this battle could've gotten much more claustrophobic, or had Pinstripe changing his attack patterns based on your movements. As it is, it's a molehill (or potoroo hill) when it should be closer to a mountain.
