Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

7. Crash Bandicoot

Crash is the titular character and face of the franchise, so there’s a lot of pressure on him to deliver.

He certainly brings his personality, with Beenox giving him the classic ‘Whoa!’ and plenty of exaggerated expressions.

He’s in the balanced category, making him reliable but not that exciting; not what you’d usually think of when describing Crash. Even though he’s a massively popular character, a more accurate ranking places him in the upper middle when you take all things into account.

In a weird way, his popularity has to count against him a bit too. So many people’s default instinct is to pick Crash (it is Crash Team Racing, after all) that other characters get less appreciation.

It’s the same as picking Mario in Mario Kart (or Party, or Tennis, or... ), in that you’re fundamentally missing out on a key part of the game. These games are supposed to shine a light on the less appreciated characters of the franchise.

Crash is an iconic character in gaming, but here he’s just ready salted crisps. The balanced category only plays into this image further, too. His Scuba skin is good, but compared to Dirt Bike Crunch or Ninja Cortex, it’s not great.
